Reptile Gardens

I went to Reptile Gardens before I got to OshKosh. It was really fun. They had all kinds of shows of reptiles. Even though a bird isn't a reptile, they still had a bird show. As you can see the first picture is of a bird and she was waving to to us when I was taking the picture.

On the next picture, on one of those board things, you know - when you stick your head out of it and there's a painting on the outside. I don't really know what they are called, but anyway. I was pretending I was scared of the snake.

The next picture is of me by a big, giant turtle. If I huddled up, it would probably be 2 1/2 to 3 times as big as me. It was pretty big. Just a few weeks or days before, somebody had gotton their finger bit off by one of those turtles because he was eating and they got their finger down by his mouth.

I did something fun this weekend, too. I got to play with some of my friends that I had not seen for more than a year. It was so fun! And we were able to pick up where we had left off. We went to the lake and had a picnic. It started to rain when we had just finished eating, so we had to scurry toward the cars. But, we had fun.

Yesterday, mommy was extremely sick and so we spent quite a bit of the day inside watching t.v. and some of it playing outside. Today we were going to go huckleberry picking, but we learned that there was about a 50% chance of rain and mama is still a little sick. - Tiarra

OshKosh, Wisconsin, Adventist Comporee, 2009

I want to tell you about my big, summer adventure. This last August, I went on a trip to OshKosh, Wisconsin for the big, Pathfinder Camporee. There were about 36,000 people and on one of the pictures that I took a picture of, I was pointing one way and you couldn't even see 1/4 of the people! I had so much fun!

This first picture was a puppet of one of the puppet shows they had. His name was Toby. And he was extremely funny! The time I got the picture that you see now was when I think he had just gotton scared, so his mouth is wide open.

The next picture you will see is of me and Miss Brenda from Kid's Time. It was Friday when I went to her booth to see if I could get a DVD I was in. She didn't know which one I was talking about, but I got a little, black, stuffed animal puppy.

Another funny thing that happened is when I was marching in the parade, Mrs. Glatts, one of my leaders was giving us all water while we were stopped in the parade. When it came to be my turn out of the four girls, I drank most of my bottle and Mrs. Glatts started pouring the rest over my forehead. Quicker than a flash, she moved the bottle, lifted out my shirt and poured the rest down my shirt and ran away because she didn't know what I was going to think. We all started laughing. It was so funny. - Tiarra

My Old Fashioned 10th Birthday

Last April, I had an old fashioned tea party for my birthday. We all dressed up in old fashioned clothes and drank lemonade and ate tabouli and pasta salad and little sandwiches vegetable relishes. For dessert we had a big, beautiful, old-fashioned cake with pansies on it.

We played games like blind man's bluff and button treasure hunt, and had a pinata. I had a pony pinata. For the lemonade, we used my goblets that I had gotten from a bean auction. And for the food, we used my china, which I also got from the bean auction. Anyway, we had fun! - Tiarra

A Fun Weekend

This weekend, my family and me went to a cabin to spend the weekend. It was quite a cute cabin, pretty small, but still quite cute. We spent the first day getting settled and playing games and eating and then sleeping. The next day, The Wood Artist (my Dad), Mr. Blueberry Eyes (my brother) and me got up really quietly - or so to my Mom we did. We got dressed and we went out for a walk. We crossed a fence and walked into the meadow.
We found some tracks right as we started walking into the woods.

We saw rabbit tracks and tracks that we think were probably coyote tracks and big places in the snow that The Wood Artist thinks were probably pushed down by a moose. We walked on a little further, following the moose tracks and then we all heard something. At first it sounded like a moose or a siren. But in the end we found out that it was coyotes howling. Now that was pretty neat. Too bad The Stitch Maiden (my mommy) wasn't there. They were fairly close.
Anyway, the weekend was fun. - Tiarra

The New Button Box

This is my new button box. I decided to make a new one, not decorate it with so many buttons, but to make it cute! I thought it would look cute if I used buttons for O's. My brother's button box is a little like it, except that it looks even more like a stop sign, because mine has long points on it. Mr. Blueberry Eye's box has all sides even.

My Puppy, the Spy Deputy

My little puppy is not really a spy, but we have fun pretending. She is the perfect puppy for our family. She's funny, she hilarious! And even though she may be small, she has a very low growl. My daddy even says she doesn't have a slow-moving muscle in her body, she moves so fast. She's half Yorkie, a quarter Silky, and a quarter Poodle. I think she thinks she is 100% human. She really is hilarious. When you accidentally lock her in a closet, or forget about her, or shut her in a room, she usually doesn't make a sound. When she is does make a sound, its a very low "RRrrrrrr!" When she is naughty, she sometimes hides behind something and peeks out to see if you are still mad at her. She chases the cats down the hall and she's learned the trick at least with one cat to sit and watch him until he gets half of his body through the cat door and then she'll charge after him. Occasionally, she gets told what's what and who's boss by the cat. Its a very funny time when you're living with a puppy. And if you have one, I'm sure you know what I mean! - Tiarra

A Homeschool Downhill Ski Day

A couple Thursdays ago, my daddy (The Wood Artist), me, and my brother(Mr. Blueberry Eyes) went on a homeschool, downhill ski day. There are no pictures of me because my Daddy wasn't with me when the camera was working and when he was with me, the camera wasn't working. But anyway, we learned how to do pizzas and duck walks and going straight which Mr. Blueberry Eyes calls French fries. And we even got to go on the lift coming up. It was my first time - at least the first time I remember going on an open ski lift. And then on the bunny hill, there was a little thing to the side where you had to point your skiis up the hill and wait for a little handlebar to come by on a string. When the handle bar got to you, you had to grab onto it and be pulled up the bunny hill. Sometimes it was really hard to hold onto it, especially when somebody in front of you let go. It wasn't to my brother, he said. It was kinda hard trying to step off the thing that you were pulled up the bunny hill by. But I soon got the hang of it. One of the tricky parts was, we had to learn how to do all of this downhill skiing without any poles, but I soon got the hang of that, too. And when we were all done skiing and I had taken my boots and skiis off, my feet ached horrifically. Anyway, it was a fun day in the end. The end.
